This year for summer camp, Troop 57 elected to go to Camp Constantin, a Circle Ten
Council operated camp. The troop did its usual masterful job of participating in the merit
badge
and advancement program. Most scouts earned more than one merit badge during the week, and
several scouts also advanced in rank.
The most exciting thing about camp this year however was the level of participation in all
of the extra activities available at camp. The troop conducted in-camp instruction in
basic scout skills , participated in the
competition for cleaning and improving our camp site , and conducted daily in-camp flag
ceremonies .
We also took part in optional activities each evening including the hike to Johnson's Peak
A camp fire with another troop
the camp-wide volleyball
tournament,
the aquatics relay race, and the raft race.
In fact, troop 57 particpated in enough events, activities, and requirements to earn the
prestigious
Baden-Powell Troop Award
We had fun too, whether observing the sights in our camp site ,
enjoying a fine meal in the dining hall
...or just relaxing
One night, the troop organized, mobilized, and polarized to protect its standing in the
competition for the camp site award.
And of course, who could ever forget...
The Flag!!!!!
