Home again, Home again...

Folks from the 3rd Transcona Group treated us to breakfast then ferried us to the airport to catch our flight home. We presented them with our remaining Troop 57 memorabilia, including a crew autographed 57 neckerchief. All the paperwork I was carrying was only going to be needed two more times: once to board our flight in Winnipeg and one last time when we changed planes in Chicago. After then I would be finally able to quit worrying about it. We arrived that afternoon back in Dallas, tired, happy, feeling a sense of accomplishment, and definitely changed. It felt good to be re-united with family and loved ones, but among the members of the crew we all knew that we'd shared an experience that had bonded us and changed us in ways that perhaps we didn't fully expect. We'd left home a group of individuals and had returned, for the time being at least, a team. I'm very proud of what we accomplished and of the way the guys conducted themselves at every step of the way, both on the water and off. If the people we met along the way formed their opinions of Scouts in the USA based on their experiences with us, then I am convinced that those opinions were positive. Personally, I'm proud to have been a part of this crew and would not hesitate to embark on another adventure with them. What do you say we tackle Sea Base next guys?

Respectfully,
Robert Garrett, Scoutmaster and Crew Member
